Warranty Period
Unless a product description or written custom-order agreement states otherwise, eligible jewelry is covered by this limited warranty for 12 months beginning on the date of confirmed delivery.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
What This Warranty Covers
This limited warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that existed when the jewelry was delivered or that become apparent during the 12-month warranty period under normal and appropriate use.
Depending on the piece and the nature of the verified defect, covered conditions may include:
• Defective solder joints
• Defective clasps, hinges, or other functional components
• Setting or assembly defects
• Manufacturing defects in prongs, galleries, shanks, links, or other structural components
• Defects in customization, resizing, engraving, or other work performed or arranged by Curated Carat Couture
Jewelry naturally requires care and maintenance. The existence of wear, damage, a loose stone, or a missing stone does not by itself establish that the item had a defect in materials or workmanship.
Available Warranty Remedies
After inspecting the jewelry and confirming a covered defect, Curated Carat Couture will determine an appropriate remedy based on the nature of the item and defect. The remedy may include:
• Repairing the defective component
• Replacing the defective component
• Replacing the item with the same or a reasonably comparable item when repair is not reasonably possible
• Providing another appropriate resolution as required by applicable law
Any replacement diamond, gemstone, metal, or component may have minor variations from the original because individual stones, materials, and handcrafted elements are not always identical.
Approved warranty work will be performed without charge. Curated Carat Couture will also pay the authorized, insured shipping costs associated with a verified warranty claim.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This limited warranty does not cover:
• Normal wear, including scratches, dents, scuffs, surface wear, finish changes, or gradual metal loss
• Normal tarnish, patina, oxidation, or discoloration
• Gradual loosening, thinning, bending, or wearing of prongs, clasps, links, shanks, chains, settings, or other components through ordinary use
• Damage caused by impact, pressure, crushing, snagging, dropping, misuse, abuse, accident, or improper handling
• Damage caused by failure to follow reasonable care or maintenance instructions
• Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, chlorine, bleach, cosmetics, extreme temperatures, or inappropriate cleaning methods
• Damage associated with a change in finger size or an improper fit after delivery
• Loss, theft, or unexplained disappearance of an entire item
• Loss or damage occurring during shipment that was not authorized and arranged by Curated Carat Couture
• Characteristics, inclusions, blemishes, color variations, growth features, or other qualities disclosed in a product description, grading report, appraisal, photograph, video, or written custom-order agreement
• Customer preference changes concerning a diamond’s, gemstone’s, or finished piece’s appearance after the applicable return or approval period has ended
• Damage caused by sizing, setting, engraving, alteration, cleaning, repair, or other work performed by another jeweler or third party
Having another qualified jeweler inspect, maintain, or repair the jewelry does not automatically cancel all warranty coverage. However, this warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by that third party’s work.
DIAMOND AND GEMSTONE LOSS
Diamonds and gemstones can become loose or lost through impact, worn prongs, accidental damage, or other conditions that are not manufacturing defects. This limited warranty therefore does not automatically provide replacement coverage for a lost diamond or gemstone.
Any stone-loss claim must be evaluated individually. The remaining jewelry and setting must be submitted for inspection whenever available. If the inspection establishes that a covered defect in materials or workmanship caused the loss during the warranty period, Curated Carat Couture will determine the appropriate remedy under this limited warranty.
Customers should obtain independent jewelry insurance covering loss, theft, disappearance, accidental damage, and other risks that are outside this limited warranty. This warranty is not a substitute for personal jewelry insurance.
LOOSE DIAMONDS AND GEMSTONES
The jewelry workmanship coverage described above does not apply to diamonds or gemstones sold loose.
A loose diamond or gemstone is governed by its product description, any accompanying independent grading report or documentation, the Return and Refund Policy, and any written sourcing or inspection agreement.
Nothing in this section limits a customer’s rights if a stone is materially different from what was represented at the time of sale.
COMPLIMENTARY FIRST-YEAR INSPECTION
The original purchaser may request one complimentary inspection of eligible jewelry during the first 12 months after confirmed delivery.
The complimentary inspection includes visual examination of the piece and its accessible settings, prongs, clasps, and other functional components. It does not include repairs, replacement parts, refinishing, resizing, appraisal, or other services unless Curated Carat Couture confirms that the work is covered by this limited warranty.
The customer is responsible for authorized, insured shipping to and from Curated Carat Couture for a routine inspection. If the inspection confirms a covered warranty defect, Curated Carat Couture will pay or reimburse the authorized shipping costs associated with the approved claim.
Do not ship jewelry without first receiving written instructions, an approved destination, and insurance requirements from Curated Carat Couture.
HOW TO REQUEST WARRANTY SERVICE
To request warranty evaluation, email concierge@curatedcaratcouture.com and include:
• The purchaser’s name
• The order number or other proof of purchase
• A description of the concern and when it was first noticed
• Clear photographs or video showing the jewelry and affected area
• Any relevant information about an impact, alteration, prior repair, or other event involving the piece
Curated Carat Couture may request additional photographs, documentation, or physical inspection before determining whether the claim is covered.
Do not continue wearing jewelry with a loose stone, damaged clasp, bent prong, cracked component, or other suspected structural problem. Continued wear after a problem becomes apparent may cause additional damage or loss that is not covered.
SHIPPING FOR INSPECTION OR SERVICE
Jewelry may be shipped for inspection or service only after written authorization.
Customers must use the carrier, prepaid label, packaging method, insurance, destination, and delivery instructions provided or approved by Curated Carat Couture. Jewelry shipped independently, inadequately insured, improperly packaged, or sent to an unauthorized address may not be covered while in transit.
When a claim is confirmed as covered, Curated Carat Couture will pay the authorized insured shipping costs and approved warranty service.
If the condition is not covered, the customer will be informed before any paid repair or service is performed. The customer may be responsible for inspection, repair, and insured return-shipping costs.
JEWELRY CARE
Fine jewelry is durable but not indestructible. Proper wear, storage, cleaning, and maintenance help preserve its appearance and structural integrity.
Everyday Wear
• Remove jewelry before strenuous exercise, sports, gardening, household cleaning, heavy lifting, or other activities that may expose it to impact or pressure.
• Avoid wearing jewelry in swimming pools, hot tubs, or while handling chlorine, bleach, and other harsh chemicals.
• Apply lotions, cosmetics, fragrances, hairspray, and similar products before putting on jewelry.
• Do not continue wearing a piece if a stone moves, a prong catches, a clasp does not close securely, or any component appears bent, cracked, or damaged.
Cleaning
• Use only cleaning methods appropriate for the specific metal, diamond, gemstone, finish, and construction of the piece.
• Many diamond and solid-metal pieces may be cleaned gently with lukewarm water, mild soap, and a very soft brush, followed by careful rinsing and drying with a soft, lint-free cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, toothpaste, bleach, harsh chemicals, or stiff brushes.
• Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are not appropriate for every gemstone, treatment, setting, or jewelry construction. Do not use them unless a qualified jeweler has confirmed that they are safe for the particular piece.
Storage
• Store jewelry clean and dry in a fabric-lined compartment, pouch, or protective box.
• Keep pieces separated so diamonds, gemstones, and metal surfaces do not scratch one another.
• Store delicate chains and bracelets in a manner that reduces tangling, bending, and pressure on clasps and links.
• Retain grading reports, appraisals, receipts, and other documentation separately from the jewelry.
Inspections and Maintenance
Jewelry should be inspected by a qualified jeweler at least once each year and promptly after any significant impact or whenever a loose stone, worn prong, weakened clasp, or other concern is noticed.
Frequently worn rings and jewelry with elevated, shared-prong, halo, pavé, or intricate settings may require more frequent inspection.
Routine inspection, cleaning, polishing, refinishing, rhodium plating, tightening, resizing, and replacement of components worn through ordinary use are maintenance services and are not automatically covered by this limited warranty.
ADDITIONAL RIGHTS
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or limits any warranty, consumer right, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or limited.
